Water Treatment Technician

We require a professional and experienced Water Treatment Technician to work within our established and expanding water treatment business. You will be required to undertake a range of interesting and challenging tasks and projects working in conjunction with the Water Treatment and Service Teams.

You will need to have excellent time management skills and be willing to interact directing with customers in a friendly and professional manor. Your time will be divided between client site visits, administrative office and operational duties.

  • Carry out onsite installation of water and wastewater treatment systems under the direction of the Service Manager. 
  • Carry out onsite commissioning of pump systems, sewerage treatment plants, membrane treatment plants (UF & RO), media filtration plants, UV systems, dosing systems and other complex water and wastewater treatment systems. 
  • Perform ongoing preventative maintenance and repairs to pump systems and specialised water treatment plants as scheduled. 
  • Operate site treatment systems as required and troubleshoot and provide practical solutions to site issues.
  • Work with and visit clients to arrange a seamless transition from onsite installation to AKS commissioning, including walking through requirements prior to commissioning commencing. 
  • Attend on-site witness testing as required to confirm plant operations with clients (may involve after hours work). 
  • Be prepared to undertake some interstate and state-wide travel to complete on site works.
  • Ensure a complete project and product handover is received from Water Projects Production Team prior to plant delivery to site. 
  • Attend (where possible) onsite FAT at AKS Head Office.
  • Ensure at project completion, a complete list of components, chemicals and other onsite parts is documented in AKS SharePoint .
  • Preparation of preventative maintenance service schedules with pricing, as discussed with Service Manager, including recommended onsite spares and chemicals.
  • Liaise with onsite Project Managers about site inductions, timing and parts required in conjunction with service department. 
  • Log in and remotely monitor treatment plants as directed by Service Manager. 
  • Provide phone support for water projects clients as required.
  • Work with clients through the DLP to ensure contact is made with the new facilities management, allowing AKS the opportunity of future maintenance works. 
Sales Support – Water Projects

With over 30 years experience as a local, family owned business, with a facility in Geelong and an office in South East Melbourne, we design, manufacture, service and build water pump systems, fire sets and ‘state of the art’ water treatment plants.

As a result of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced water treatment professional to join our team..

  • has an engineering background with a demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of water treatment and membrane filtration
  • can read, understand and summarise project specifications
  • can produce concept designs of treatment plants
  • has an ability to produce PFD and P&ID for proposals
  • has a demonstrated ability to generate accurate project costings
  • can liaise with suppliers to establish equipment selections
  • is able to produce sales proposals and other sales presentations
  • can assist our water projects sales team with their requirements for project information
  • is positive with a ‘can done’ attitude
